History

Mid Michigan College purchased its Pickard location in 1993, and the building served the Mt. Pleasant community for over 20 years as the College’s main Mt. Pleasant location—until the College built its current campus on South Summerton Road.

The Pickard building’s three floors, 56,000+ square feet of interior space, and over 10 acres with ample parking offers incredible possibilities as a multipurpose event, wellness, art, and learning venue.

In 2018, the College, in consultation with a property developer, began investigating new educational, cooperative workplace, and enrichment models that could be housed in the building. Mid also began working to form partnerships with local healthcare facilities, artisan groups and organizations, educational providers, fitness and wellness instructors, and other local practitioners.

Currently, it continues to engage community members and community partners in creating a vision for the building—a vision for The Pickard.
